The Hilo Beauty is a uniquely colored elephant ear with bluish-black stalks and medium-green leaves beautifully marked with a camouflage like pattern of dark and light greens and yellows. A small growing species, the Hilo Beauty rarely reaches 3 feet in height. A good semi-aquatic plant for a pond border or terrarium.

- Light: 65%-73% shade, likes high light, but will do reasonably well in 80% shade
- Soil: aerated mix containing bark, coarse perlite and peat moss
